Some people believe that using tips for length also provides strength and that its better to trim down your natural nails and apply a tip for length. Nail strength can be impro. Gel overlay does not extend the nail or give it any length like the purpose behind artificial nails.
Actually gel or acrylic overlays are not good for nails. Be sure to watch this short. For me I dont see any damage to my original nail.
Be patient because it will probably take multiple. You will know when the acrylic is completely removed. This is so far from the truth.
When your natural nails are drilled down several layers of the nail bed are being filed through and there is no way to heal that kind of damage. So it is often recommended that after 3 months of continuous wear clients should take a break from acrylics. I will say occasionally the gel will chip off.
Sometimes even immaculately cared for nails can begin to show damage from acrylic nails. Yes it is true. Ive had my overlays for about 4 or 5 months now.
