Acrylic Nail Broke Off Real Nail

Try taking tip cutters and cutting the nail.

Acrylic nail broke off real nail. You could use an electric nail file. Hit my acrylic nail and now have half my real nail and acrylic nail. Your nail would just be broken in the middle.

When the acrylic has been removed the nail technician can simply cut off the broken nail if it is over the free edge. A similar thing happened to me on my little finger. Take a blow dryer to it to make sure.

The guy filed and buffed way too hard causing pain. The acetone will partially dissolve the plastic. Glove your free hand and soak a cotton swab with the acetone.

Apply acetone to a cotton ball and apply to the top. Scared to take the nail off cus it hurts. My fingernails and skin all around hurt really bad after getting acrylic nails at the salon.

Because acrylic is very hard it can shatter when being cut and hurt you even more. Cut off as much of the fake nail as you can. If your nail break is low and has exposed any nail bed or skin you can expect some slight discomfort or stinging as the acetone penetrates the acrylic.

Daventry Northants UK Apr 23 2006. When it stops being so sore you can remove the false nail but I would have the nail technician do it. The best thing you can do is soak off on Monday and assess what is there - is the nail saveable with another overlay or will you have to cut off the free edge and redo with either a tip or sculpt.
